Ngày 11/1/2017, GS. TS. Matthew Wilson - Hiệu trưởng trường Đại học Akron, Hoa Kỳ và GS. Pattrick Guaghan - GS ngành Luật, Phó trưởng khoa đã có chuyến thăm và làm việc tại Trường Đại học Kinh tế Quốc dân.
Tham gia tiếp đoàn, về phía Trường Đại học Kinh tế Quốc dân (ĐH KTQD) có: GS.TS. Trần Thọ Đạt - Bí thư Đảng Ủy, Hiệu trưởng nhà trường; TS. Đào Thanh Tùng - Trưởng phòng Hợp tác Quốc tế; PGS.TS. Trần Văn Nam - Trưởng Khoa Luật; ThS. Phạm Sỹ Long - Phó trưởng phòng Hợp tác Quốc tế.
Đoàn cán bộ trường ĐH Akron thăm và làm việc tại trường ĐH KTQD
Nồng nhiệt chào mừng đoàn tới thăm và làm việc tại trường ĐH KTQD, GS.TS Trần Thọ Đạt cũng chia sẻ về lịch sử phát triển cũng như vị thế hàng đầu trong đào tạo kinh tế và quản trị kinh doanh ở Việt Nam của ĐH KTQD. GS Hiệu trưởng mạnh, ĐH KTQD luôn sẵn sàng mở rộng mối quan hệ hợp tác với các trường đại học tại Hoa Kỳ, đặc biệt là các trường có thứ hạng cao và giàu kinh nghiệm trong đào tạo khối ngành kinh tế và quản trị kinh doanh như đại học Akron.

Đáp lại sự thịnh tình của GS Hiệu trưởng, GS.TS Matthew Wilson cũng đặc biệt ấn tượng và đánh giá cao những thành tựu mà ĐH KTQD đạt được trong chặng đường hơn 60 năm qua. GS. Wilson nhấn mạnh rằng việc ký kết MOU giữa hai trường là bước đầu tiên trong việc thiết lập mối quan hệ song phương giữa hai bên và bài giảng với chủ đề “Quan điểm của Hoa Kỳ về kinh doanh quốc tế và công ước CISG” là hoạt động đầu tiên trong việc giao lưu hợp tác giữa hai trường.
Hai bên kí kết biên bản thỏa thuận ghi nhớ
Sau buổi tiếp xã giao, GS.TS. Trần Thọ và GS.TS. Matthew Wilson đã thực hiện ký kết Biên bản ghi nhớ giữa hai trường. Đây là cơ sở pháp lý đầu tiên trong việc phát triển mối quan hệ hợp tác hữu nghị giữa hai bên.
GS.TS Matthew Wilson thực hiện bài giảng “Một số khía cạnh về kinh doanh quốc tế và công ước CISG của Hoa Kỳ”
GS.TS. Matthew Wilson cũng đã thực hiện bài giảng với chủ đề “Một số khía cạnh về kinh doanh quốc tế và công ước CISG của Hoa Kỳ”. Bài giảng đã thu hút được sự quan tâm của các bạn sinh viên và giảng viên khoa Luật.

On 11th Jan, 2017, Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson - President of the University of Akron, the U.S accompanied by Prof. Dr. Pattrick Guaghan - Professor of Law, Assistant Dean of Global Engagement, the University of Akron had paid his visit to the National Economics University (NEU).
On NEU side, attending the meeting were Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat – President, Dr. Dao Thanh Tung – Director of International Cooperation Department, Assoc Prof. Dr. Tran Van Nam – Dean of Faculty of Law, and MBA. Pham Sy Long – Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department.
A great cheer up from NEU President for Prof. Dr. Wilson’s trip to NEU, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat shared the history of NEU development as well as its proud position as one of the top universities in Vietnam especially in training economics and business management. The President emphasized that NEU would always be willing to foster its cooperative relationships with the U.S universities, especially with high-ranking university like the University of Akron which was adopt at teaching economics and business management.
Thanks for NEU’s warm hospitality, Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson shared that he impressed and highly appreciated all NEU’s efforts and its achievements during over the past 60 years. He also highlighted that signing MOU was the first step to set up bilateral relationship between the two institutions, and their cooperation would start by his talk on the topic “UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG): Some perspectives from USA” at NEU after the meeting.
After the formal meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Tho Dat and Prof. Dr. Matthew Wilson signed the MOU between the two universities. It would be the first framework to advance their cooperative relationships and friendship.
